SteadyMed is developing the Patch-Pump®, a superior disposable miniature drug-delivery patch designed for home use. The PatchPump®, will enable people to live, work and play while wearing the pump and make delivery of biologics at home as simple as taking a pill.

SteadyMed's unique, fully disposable, standalone drug-delivery patch will contain injectable drugs that are delivered subcutaneously at a controlled rate, typically from 1 to 72 hours. The PatchPump® will be a ready-to-use unit, pre-filled with the drug and allow the user to set different flow rates. It is based on SteadyMed’s proprietary ECell® technology, a disposable, self-contained, electrochemical cell that expands radically while being discharged at a controlled rate. The expansion expels the drug from the device to deliver a controlled flow. The ECell's® efficient design enables the production of simple, ultra-thin and cost-effective drug delivery pumps.
